About The Site
This site is a work in progress. After I got a tiny bit of attention on a couple of YouTube videos, I got a lot of inquiries and figured I should make a website.
Pretty much the only thing that’s “finished” on this site is my blog, which I am trying to post something new and useful as often as I can!
About Me
I’m a filmmaker working in the industry for over 10 years in various roles such as director, writer, cinematographer / DP, production designer, editor, and more.
I got into AI video production about a year ago, starting with Google Veo. I had the incredible opportunity to be hired by a company and given an unlimited budget to essentially go wild, experiment, and learn AI video, pushing the boundaries of what it could do.
Unfortunately, all of the work I did for that company and have since done for other entities is under NDA, meaning Non Disclosure Agreement, so even though the work me and my teams were making waaaay back then was cutting edge, it will never see the light of day LOL.
Nowadays, the world of AI video has expanded and there’s a growing interest and appreciation for creating AI videos that echo the world of conventional cinema.
I’ve learned a lot on my journey, working essentially in a vacuum. I think my perspective has value and I’d like to share!
About Flesh Syntax
I originally made this YouTube channel as a place to post AI videos and AI music I was making as I worked through grief over my Mom’s passing. She had been my biggest champion when it came to my creative endeavors, and losing her made making art of any kind feel pointless.
Working with GenAI helped me get my spark back again. It was a medium unlike anything else!
I wanted to create a name that spoke to both the human element / “in the flesh” and digital element of AI video work that’s rooted in the tech / programming world.
I think that a lot of power in art has to do with the impact of it – how it makes people feel. Not just emotionally – but physiologically.
