New Cinema Studio Camera and Lens names Compared to Old Camera and Lens Names

Higgsfield Cinema Studio New Camera Lens Names

Higgsfield AI has recently switched up the naming conventions of their camera and lens combos in their popular cinematic Gen AI product, “Cinema Studio” to something I feel is A LOT more accurate.

TBH – Cinema Studio’s lenses / camera options always operated like filters with very little precision.

For filmmakers, the differences were obvious, and to AI creators with no filmmaking background, the precise technical camera and lens names had very little meaning – especially when outputs varied widely depending on the prompt / image inputs.

While it was a cool idea, the original names, (which were the names of some of the most popular name-brand cameras and lenses on the market for professional productions) were not doing anyone any favors! This new renaming is much more honest, and helpful for AI creators who really just need to know the general look and feel of what they’re getting at this stage.

Hopefully in the future, the technology will become a lot more precise, and we can truly have options that reliably and accurately represent specific lenses, lens filters, and cameras!

But for now, I stand behind Higgsfield’s move to generalize. (though I wonder if the move comes from legit wanting to make a better product, or if Arri, Panavision, and Cooke etc pushed back on the brand call-outs…)

To be clear, the functions of these cameras and lenses have not changed.

Only the names have!

Without further ado, here are the Cinema Studio camera and lens names before and after so you can adjust your workflow!
